Established in 1966, Can Tho University is widely recognized as a premier university in the Mekong Delta of Viet Nam. Its goal is to strengthen its reputation within Viet Nam and join the ranks of internationally renowned universities. To this end, it is committed to constantly improve its capacity in research, teaching, knowledge -how transfer, and services. As one of Viet NamNs leading multidisciplinary universities located in the heart of the Mekong Delta, Can Tho University enjoys a special niche among higher education institutions in Viet Nam. Currently, the university has around 2,000 staff members and almost 48,500 students and offers 87 Undergraduate, 33 Master’s and 9 Doctoral training programs in a wide range of subjects.
Can Tho University pays great attention to the professional development of its staff, aiming at high quality and prestige. At present, it is implementing a credit-based system in line with international standards. Within this context, staff members are encouraged to take part in scientific research and publication publish their work and to apply active teaching methodology, training students to become more independent and critical thinkers.
