The delegation of representatives of Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) from Cambodia paid a visit to Can Tho University (CTU)

RUPP has been one of the oldest and largest universities of Cambodia, established in 1960. In 1999, RUPP became a full member of ASEAN University Network (AUN). Through seeking for deep understanding of CTU’s education and training activities, RUPP’s leaders realized a number of similarities between the two universities. Therefore, on this visit, RUPP representatives expressed their kind interests in discussing the collaborations with CTU and sharing experiences in quality assurance, academic management and language training.

In fact, CTU has been one of core universities of Vietnam and the core and largest university in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam. In particular, CTU is a multi-disciplinary university with different academic programs in different fields. Therefore, at the reception to RUPP, representing CTU Rectorate Board, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Viet Dung kindly expressed goodwill to collaborate with RUPP not only in quality assurance, academic management and language training, but expanding in all other activities related to education, training and joint research of the two universities. In particular, CTU Vice Rector emphasized the joint research between CTU and RUPP with the objectives to take the advantages and the potentials of the common points in natural conditions, climate and natural resources of the section of the Mekong river to develop the Mekong Delta in Viet Nam and Phnom Penh - Cambodia.

On this occasion, two universities mutually introduced and shared an overview of facilities and activities in education, training, research and international relations, then discussed the future collaboration directions. In the meantime, RUPP’s leader expressed their sincere invitation to CTU to pay a visit to RUPP in Cambodia. In keen response to RUPP’s invitation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Viet Dung promised that CTU will have a representative delegation to visit RUPP in the coming time. After the reception, CTU arranged a short tour for RUPP’s delegation to visit CTU’s units and go sightseeing around Can Tho City.
