The biggest Canadian Education Fairs in Vietnam with 70 Canadian schools
in Hanoi (Oct 24th) and Ho Chi Minh City (Oct 30th)

The Embassy of Canada and the Consulate General of Canada have the honour to announce the biggest Canadian Education Fairs to take place later this month in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with the participation of almost 70 Canadian education institutions, representing the full range of some of the best education options from kindergarten to Grade 12, to college and university. Canadian missions in Vietnam also invite Vietnamese candidate to apply for prestigious scholarship programs including the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship and the Sauvé Scholars program.

This year’s Canadian Education Fairs are open to the public and will take place at the Melia Hotel in Hanoi on October 24th and at the Intercontinental Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City on October 30th with both events taking place from 1pm to 7pm. Co-organized by the Embassy of Canada in Hanoi, the Consulate General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City, and Canadian Education International (CEI), the Canadian Education Fairs offer Vietnamese school counselors, education agents, students and their families an excellent opportunity to see what Canada has to offer. These events will also give the chance to directly ask questions to academic representatives from Canadian education institutions and with Vietnamese alumni who studied in Canada. Information about the visa application process will also be available.

The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS) program attracts and retains world-class doctoral students to Canadian universities by supporting individuals who demonstrate strong leadership skills and a high standard of scholarly achievement in graduate studies in health, natural sciences, engineering, humanities and social sciences. This program provides 500 Canadian and international doctoral students with highly prestigious scholarships valued at $50,000 per year for three years. More information about the Vanier scholarships can be found in the website: www.vanier.gc.ca.

The Sauvé Scholars Program exists for young leaders under the age of 30 from across the globe who want to change the world. Each year, up to 14 remarkable young leaders are invited to come to Montreal for the academic calendar year. They live together and enjoy unlimited access to McGill University’s academic programs and other resources – including lectures, conferences and events suited to the advancement of their individual professional and intellectual goals – while benefiting from the communal life and multi-faceted exchanges with their fellow Scholars. Deadline for application for 2011 Intake is November 1, 2010. More information about the program can be found at the website: www.sauvescholars.org.

More than 150,000 international students are currently in Canada, taking advantage of first class academic facilities and an outstanding learning environment. Canada invests more in its education system than any other country in the 30-member Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, as well as in the G-8 group of the world’s largest economies. Canadian diplomas are valued around the world, yet tuition fees are lower than most other developed countries, and Canada is recognized as one of the safest places to live in the world.
